Thinking Out Loud: I Moved!

Good morning folks – long time no blog! But really, this once-a-week thing is no good. Hopefully next week I’ll have more flexibility and dendrites + neurons + things happening in my brain that will help me formulate interesting blogs πŸ™‚ Thinking Out LoudΒ (with Amanda!) for today is focusing on…

How my “life got flipped…turned upside down!” Nawww just kidding πŸ™‚

This last weekend…I moved! New apartment, new location, and lots of organizing, lifting heavy objects, and Bed, Bath and Beyond-outings. Oh, and Target,Β obviously Target.Β You all know I’m right!

Thought #1: Anything you need is at Target. It’s true, don’t argue. πŸ™‚ And I’m soooo lucky (is it luck?) that I’m only 5 minutes from a Target now. Boom!

Thought #2: Moving is a hugeΒ strain on the body!Β  I made sure I did NOT workout last weekend, because I knew that moving in itself is a complete total body workout. Bending your legs, lifting with your LEGS (not back), holding tightly with your arms… phew. It was all worth it though πŸ™‚

Thought #3: I need to hurry up and paint my shelving units this weekend.Β This is the current state of my living room (and no I won’t show you other rooms, for lack of organization haha!) without my shelving units. Boxes discarded from new electronics, and my yoga mat in front of the TV ready to be used. Ahh, slowly coming together.

Thought #4:Β Planks are the best ab workout. In my humble opinion. They are so hard, especially holding them for long periods of time, but I seriously have not gotten faster results from any other exercise. #jussayin

Thought #5.Β I apparently love muffins. Saturday we visited my sister in Chicago (to welcome her home from her European excursion, as well as pick up my couch and chair seen in the photo above) and brought her PB&J muffins. Seeeriously killer. Unfortunately not gluten-free, but I let one slide πŸ™‚

When I got all settled into my new apartment, however, I made my own banana, peanut butter gluten-free and sugar-free muffins. Yessssss.

Thought #6. I love my lighter hair! I decided to go light once and for all for summer, and I really love it. Thoughts? I have not been this light in a LONG time, and I think it’s going to stick for summer πŸ™‚

Thought #7.Β Sometimes I eat weird breakfasts. Strange, yes, but green bell pepper and soy mayonnaise IS the best combination out there. Just do it. Or maybe it’s just me…

Thought #8.Β I cannot wait to start reading again. Now that I can focus on settling into my new apartment, I have a huuuge list of books that I’d like to attack! Here are some new ones that just released this past month!

Thought #9.Β Chia is going to change my life! Maybe not to that extreme, but I had forgotten how AMAZING these seeds are for you, filled with fiber and omega-3’s and SO much more! I loved these Chia Squeezes I had won from Renee at Bendiful BlogΒ and I was so excited to try them!! Seriously going all-out and buying chia-every-thang.

Thought #10. Tonight is my first night teaching MY OWN Body Pump class! Β I’m not nervous… LIE. I’m kinda nervous. But I’m mostly excited. And I can’t wait to meet new gym members and help them achieve their fitness goals!! Wish me luck πŸ™‚

  1. Everything you need is most definitely at Target! I used to live in an apartment where just beyond the park my window faced was a Target. I could walk there in 5 minutes…that was dangerous! Congrats on your first Body Pump as an instructor! That’s a great workout!

  2. Congrats on the move and new apartment. I LOVE moving…when I’m done. And you’re 100% correct — everything you’ll ever need in life is at Target. PS. I’ll have no problem taking some of those muffins off of your hands…………. YUM πŸ™‚

  3. Moving is totally stressful and a workout! I remember when I moved I actually didn’t go to the gym for like two weeks or run at all. I was too busy moving lol…Agreed on the planks – who knows if I even do them correctly but definitely see results super fast since doing them.
