Holy cats man – MONDAY again? I guess this is just how it has to be…
Did you all have a nice weekend? We sure did here in Wisco! I had some pretty marvelous experiences to share with y’all 🙂 Teaming up with Katie for MIMM!
Friday after work, Patrick and I got to working on our puzzle (which honestly has been neglected the last few weeks) and then walked down to Summerfest grounds to meet his sister, bro-in-law and my dad for the Festa Italiana Rush-on-Festa 5K! A Friday night 5K isn’t reeeeeeeeeeally the easiest time to run, but it was a blast!
This was Sarah and Josh’s first official 5K too! So we were so excited to celebrate with them! So proud of how far they’ve come and we can’t wait to do more races with them! ❤ 🙂
This is how we celebrate. We like to climb on things and be weird together, so this is why we date 😉 ❤
I realized (through Timehop) that this 5K last year was my PR! I got 27:10 last year, and this year I got 29:50 haha. Big difference, but ya know, I had fun and it was only about 80 degrees and 75% humidity 🙂 So I’ll take it!
Saturday morning I got up and ran 7 miles on my own, before we headed down to Port Washington for their Port Fish Days 8K! I took a few pictures of the sunrise before the HUGE storm we got. Gorgeous, isn’t it?
Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures at the race (don’t ask me why. #blogfail) but I ran my entire 12 miles at a pretty decent pace. Not my best, not my worst, and I’m glad I stuck with it and finished strong! #marvelous ❤
We walked around a bit afterwards, got some food with my dad, and then headed home for the rest of our Saturday festivities!
I got to watch my little sister at her Irish dancing competition! ISN’T SHE SO CUTE? I can’t even stand it. I’m such a proud big sister. After Saturday and Sunday’s competitions, she participated in 7 dances, and walked away with FIVE FIRST PLACES, Two second places and one third place. 😀 I’m living vicariously through her; she’s such a great kid! ❤ ❤ ❤
After the competition, we headed downtown for Milwaukee’s Firkin Fest! Tried lots of awesome firkin beers and foods, and talked to some hilarious people. Oh Milwaukee, you never cease to confuse and enlighten me 🙂 My favorites were ones that tasted like coffee or pineapple. I know, I’m so girly.
He’s my favorite firkin person ever 😉 ❤
We met some friends for Cuban food for dinner, which hit the SPOT! Cuban sandwiches and plantain chips all around! 😀 After a 12 mile run, my body was SCREAMING for carbs 🙂 (not complaining, of course). It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day!
Sunday was relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxing day. We did some errands, but mostly relaxed at home and finished our last Harry Potter movie! Guys, I can’t NOT cry less than 10 times watching the last movie. For real. ❤ #marvelous
Got brunch. #nuffsaid
We cooked pizza flavored brat burgers for dinner. Guys, YUM. And sauteed a bunch of zucchini and squash. 🙂
It was an absolutely perfect weekend. I’m so grateful for all these freaking great people in my life. ❤
And I, of course, completed my yoga pose challenges… last night and this morning 🙂
What was the highlight of your weekend?
Do you like any good firkin dranks?
Are backbends as hard for you as they are for me?? 😉
