Thoughts for Today 2.11.16

Good morning! Hi everyone. I have been on a ROLL lately with my blogs – yay me! Feels so good to get on a routine and flow my thoughts and reflections out this way. I’m pairing up with Amanda at Running with Spoons for some thoughts today!

Patrick and I have been running our little butts of lately for our marathon training. I’m documenting those runs on my Instagram with the hashtag #weruntogether. It’s fun 🙂 He runs faster than me, but when we do our 3-milers, we stick together and catch up in that half hour time. I’m feeling pretty good so far, having some hip pain at the ends of the runs, but nothing a good stretch can’t fix so far. GOOD news there! I’m hoping I can keep this up through all our training. Good vibes good vibes!

I’ve been supplementing with yoga and weight-lifting this week. My legs and back and chest and shoulders are screeeeeamin, but it feels so good to build that muscle back slowly. It actually helps me feel stronger in my runs too, always a plus! Have you ever tried ChaLean Extreme workouts, by Chalene Johnson? BECAUSE DO IT. She’s an incredible trainer and her workout plans are SO effective!

I’ve been listening to a bunch of podcasts too; one of my favorites being Balanced Bites with Diane Sanfilippo and Liz Wolfe. I’ve learned so much already about gut health and balancing acidity in my stomach, and even what kinds of supplements I could consider taking regularly. SO informational, and I’m seriously considering making my diet more strictly Paleo. I eat relatively close to Paleo, but I also indulge in my pretzels and tortilla chip snacks often too. How do you guys feel about eating Paleo? Any suggestions from those already eating in that realm?

On that note [haha], I posted a blog earlier this week about chocolatey delicious treats for Valentine’s Day this weekend. I plan on making SOMEthing for Patrick and I, and hopefully it’ll be just enough to satiate our sweet cravings. Any suggestions on treats I may not have included in my blog? Or something you’re making?

And can we just talk about this recipe from Love and Olive Oil for Salted Vanilla Hot Chocolate? Okay, yes, times a million.

What are your weekly plans? Anyone training for a marathon in the Spring? Any awesome podcasts you’re listening to?

Peace and Love! Xoxoxo.
