Thoughts for Today 2.18.16

Happy Thursday! I hope you all enjoyed my Power of your Core post yesterday; I have been wanting to post more substantial comments and ideas on this blog, so that was just a starter/taster! πŸ™‚

I’m linking up for Thinking out Loud Thursdays today [per usual] to ramble on about some awesome things crossing my path lately!

But I want to start with showing you my new hair color/’do. SO BADLY NEEDED. And #redhairdontcare seems to fit. I loved the lighting outside so this photo needed to happen.

imageI recently bought a new Vega Sport Protein powder and I LOVE THE CHOCOLATEY GOODNESS. I’ve always purchased the Vanilla flavor, thinking it would go best with smoothies and in protein bites, but HELLO. Chocolate is life, and this flavor is seriously incredible. TRY IT.

imageI’ve also been HUGELY addicted to playing Words with Friends with Patrick. We have two games going, are pretty much tied on who’s won more overall games, and we play sitting next to each other at home. All the time. Not even embarrassed at all. [Your dendrites LOVE games like this!] Any games you guys are addicted to? πŸ™‚

imageYoga has had a huuuge impact on my stretching post-run, strengthening my core and shoulders, and my daily meditation. Nothing feels better than hitting that pose you’ve been trying to hit for SO LONG. I am addicted. πŸ™‚ Do you know of any good yoga videos online that you LOVE? I’d love to try some new classes and instructors!

imageimageimageYes, I have another amazing food picture for you – Patrick took the reins one night this week and made fish and veggies for dinner. I’m not reeeeeeeeeally a fish person, but he knows how to cook food I’ll eat, so I trusted him πŸ™‚ Breaded, lightly fried fish, and LOTS of delicious veggies with half of a sweet potato on the side. This was the PERFECT meal after our 6-mile run that night, so we’ll keep this as a staple recipe going forward!

imageI’ve also been drinking smoothies every morning post-workout. With my Vega Protein powder! It’s SERIOUSLY addicting, I could live off these things. Here’s a picture of my ingredients [fruit, spinach, PB2, protein powder and almond milk are my usual suspects] and then when it is all blended. NOMZ NOMZ. What are some of your favorite smoothie staples?imageimageAnd lastly, I want to take a poll of some good books that you guys are reading? I would LOVE to start a new series, but am open to anything that’s non-fiction/biography/historical or even something fictional that’s just too good to put down! Let me know your book ideas πŸ™‚ Do you have a Goodreads profile?

Cannot WAIT for warm weather this weekend, so Patrick and I can finally do our long marathon-training run outside. YAY SPRING IS ON THE WAY!

Peace and love, xoxo.

  1. I really like that hair color on you! My favorite thing to put in smoothies lately is fresh turmeric root for the health benefits. It’s not nearly as intense of a flavor as the powder form, and I like it with something sweet and something tart to balance it out.

  2. The Storyteller but Jodi Picoult. It is fiction but based in reality about a Jewish woman who befriends a name who fought with the Nazi’s during WWII. Most of Jodi’s books are based a lot in fact and “it could happen” but also weave a story that is hard to put down. I really enjoyed this one.

  3. I love Vega protein powder and would get it more often if it wasn’t so DANG EXPENSIVE 😦 On a happier note, I am loving the books by Gretchen Rubin about happiness and habits and am anxiously awaiting the new Harry Potter book to come out.
If you want a great series, read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Perfect!
