Thank you – 5.4.2018

And there goes another 6 weeks since I last blogged!! And not for naught! I have been meticulously working and pushing through my Half Ironman training, my day job, and my nights/weekend job (being a girlfriend, sister, daughter, friend, etc. ๐Ÿ™‚ ). So thank you for bearing with me!ย I’m sure many of you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, so I’ve been posting updates there as well ๐Ÿ™‚ @fitnessbyshannon3Keeping mindfulness in the moment has been a goal in the last several months for me, and writing a blog just hasn’t come across my mind until recently.ย  It’s really hard to find a common theme to talk about in this platform – what is my purpose for this blog? Who reads it? Does that matter? What do I want to share with you all? And what do I get out of this form of self-expression? You see – these are what cross my mind every time I sit down to write to you all… and it’s a beautiful process every single time, which only reminds me what a profound impact this blog has on my inner psyche and awareness of my self.5To be frank, not too much has changed drastically in the last 6 weeks, aside from my extensive training 7 days per week most weeks, a combination of running, biking, swimming, yoga, and lifting weights. It’s been a VERY interesting experience for me, figuring out how to maintain my goals for strength and cardio simultaneously, while incorporating in so many different forms of exercise. But it’s been a BLAST! I love the variety, and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to simply running and yoga again. ๐Ÿ˜‰6My training has included a few half marathons, a few 10k’s and 5k’s and of course, my other training runs I do on my own or with Patrick (he’s training so hard lately – he’s been pushing me and inspiring me more than EVER!) I have been swimming my heart out and LOVING every second of it. I give myself minimum an hour every time I get to the pool, and the time flies by before I even know it. My biking time has been filled with reading some AWESOME books on my new Amazon Kindle, so my time flies there too – I’m a voracious reader! I’ve read 2 books in less than 3 weeks already, so knocking it outta the park with my goal of reading a new book every month ๐Ÿ˜‰7Writing these blogs and putting updates of my life out here on the internet allows me to open my mindset, see myself from another’s perspective, think about what experiences and lessons I have learned that I want to share with others. It’s hard not to see my life as “another workout/training update” but that truly does define who I am in so many ways. And your support and encouragement allows me to grow even more mentally and emotionally every single time you guys reach out to me asking how my training is or encouraging me through any channel. It allows me to truly mirror my intrinsic motivation with the extrinsic counterparts you all provide and share with me. ๐Ÿ™‚9I’m driven. I’m very goal-oriented. I’m in love with sweating, feeling sore, strengthening my body. I like to push myself and see how far my body and mind will let me go. I like to improve my health, my fitness, my well-being. Anything involving learning something new about myself, the world I live in, others around me, biology, anatomy, science…. I could go on and on!1I appreciate every single one of you who supports me, even if we don’t communicate directly about it; but even if you are silently rooting for me when you see my posts and updates, or if you send me positive vibes – thank you thank you thank you. And for those who are there at the starting and finish lines, at the gym with me, texting me asking how my training is going, wishing me luck – THANK YOU thank you thank you! My life will never be the same, and I owe so much of my motivation and inspiration to many of you who also say that I inspire you.ย  โค

The community that surrounds me is so freaking magical. The Universe is always working in wonderful and powerful ways. โค8
